We are a niche food design and manufacturing company. Small, responsive and managed by qualified Food Technologists, we have the technical qualifications and experience to provide a full technical and commercial service for any new product development or contract manufacture projects.
Foodwise operates under a Food Safety Plan and is also certified to WQA standards. All employees are trained in the requirements of our HACCP based Food Safety Plan, through food handling training courses.
Starting from a product concept brief, we can develop prototype products that cater for all nutritional and marketing requirements (claims etc). In house nutritional formulation programs allow us to tailor recipes to particular nutritional or compositional requirements. We also value the fact that good taste is paramount and employ a contract Chef to formulate the best tasting products we can. We currently manufacture product to Heart Foundation Tick Standard
Once a prototype product has been approved the team at Foodwise will generate all mandatory packaging copy, including all NIP requirements and ingredient statements. In addition we will ensure that all relevant NZ and Australian Food Laws in regard to nutritional information, claims and product representation are complied with.
Foodwise manufactures complete finished meals from individual raw materials and everything in between. We can manufacture using proprietary blends if that is your preference. We can also manufacture meal components for use in other applications, eg. Bulk cheese or pasta sauces for catering uses. We can procure raw materials to specification or purchase from a supplier or source of your recommendation.
Foodwise can certify its products through the National Heart Foundation's Pick the Tick Programme and meets all nutritional regulatory requirements. Our in house formulator allows us to formulate to predetermined standards.
Foodwise is experienced in selecting appropriate packaging and can assist customers in selecting pack styles the suit their application. Currently dual oven and microwave meal trays, sealed with a mylar lidding film and then placed into either a printed sleeve or glued box is the preferred option. Other pack modes can be examined. We are able to assist with labelling requirements.
